The USB Flower Lamp from Apple

With the weather slowly cooling off, soon all of the flowers will die, at least the ones outdoors. Leaving most of us with nothing but dead plants and very cold wet snow. Well with all the plants dead, you might end up missing some of the pretty flowers. Now you can pick up a glowing USB flower that will stay in bloom year round. Even when outside it is ice cold and everything looks gray and white. Yes, I’m just thrilled that winter will be here soon. So thrilled I think I’ll just hibernate all winter and never go outside, seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Well, just surround your desk with these cute little USB flowers and not only will you have plenty of task lighting, but you’ll never get the winter blues. The lamp comes in three different colors, red, blue and orange. The lamp has eight bright LEDs built-in and the flower stem itself can adjust to give you lighting where you need it. You can also power it by using 3 AA batteries instead of plugging it into your USB port. The flower will cost you $15 from Gadget4all.

If you’re looking for a USB drive that has a little bit of history to it, much like the Mahjong USB drive, you might check out these little warriors. These terracotta warriors are a 7in tall replica of the Xi’an terracotta warriors, found in 1974 perfectly preserved for over 2,000 years. The warriors found at that point were underground, life-sized and were over 6,000 of them. Found by a farmer no less that was digging a well. That’d definitely make the task of digging a hole a lot more interesting.

The drives come in anywhere from 1GB-8GB. It supports password protection, and has a limited lifetime warranty. Which likely means that this drive is going to be an expensive one. Unfortunately there’s no way to tell on that. All the site does is list where you could find one of these drives to purchase, not how much you will pay at the shop once you do indeed find it.

Compwnent USB Nintendo NES Controller

\

It’s always nice to have a USB gaming controller that you’re comfortable with and enjoy using. There are a few out there, one being the metal game pad shown here a couple months ago. However, what if you could have a gaming controller that you were already overly familiar with? I think for most gamers that would trump any extra perks other USB controllers claim to have. Well now you can pick up an NES controller that has been modded to work with USB.

You can actually purchase this, this isn’t a situation where you will have to magically learn how to mod controllers. I know despite there being a thorough tutorial that if you don’t have to tools and lack the mindset for that sort of thing it’s going to get you nowhere. The USB controller also has the ability to work as a mouse. If you press in a combination of letters then it kicks on the mouse function. It isn’t being mass produced though, it’s just one guy doing the mods so you’ll have to hurry if you plan to actually get a hold of one.
